Job Description

Qualified Social Worker, Liverpool City Council, Childrens Adoption Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team

Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children’s Social Work team

The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager

The responsibilities will include:

• Knowledge and experience of family finding
• Experience and knowledge of matching children to prospective adopters, attending and arranging selection meetings, attending and arranging, life appreciation days
• Experience of attending and presenting at Adoption Panel
• Experience of planning to move children on to prospective adoptive placements
• Working collaboratively with birth family, foster carers, professionals, IRO, Adoption in Merseyside (AiM)
• Knowledge of and an understanding of Adoption legislation, statutory
guidance and practice in this field of work
• Knowledge of and an understanding of child protection and looked after children processes as outlined in Working Together to Safeguard Children and The Care Planning, Placement and Case Review (England) Regulations 2010
• Knowledge and experience of working in the court arena and completing court reports
• Good communication skills, including written as requirement is to complete reports for court and adoption panel
• 37 hours per week(flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
