Job Description

Qualified Social Worker, Assistant Team Manager, Swindon  Council, Childrens Assessments & Child Protection Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team

Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children’s Social Work team

The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager

The responsibilities will include:

• The team carry out statutory assessments. After the completion of the assessment, the case is either closed or held to the point of transfer to the Long Term Locality Teams.  The ACP team undertake assessments and investigations of any issues relating to child protection
• To model good management by taking professional responsibility for the provision of a high quality and responsive service
• Candidates must be focused on good outcomes with timely interventions at the right level; within statutory guidelines and within given resource and budget availability.
• Assist the Team Manager in the determination of priorities, and through effective management and supervision of social care staff
• Assist in the initiation and implementation of operational business plans, legislation and policy guidance for the delivery of the Council priorities
• Liaise with other professionals
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
