Job Description

Support Worker, Manchester City Council, Adults Housing Team - Must have a minimum of 2 years+ UK experience within an Adult Social Work team

Our client is looking for a support Worker with 2 years+ UK experience within an Adults team

The responsibilities will include:

• Role supports the provision of housing related support for residents and works with customers and agencies to provide long term housing solutions and ensures
that residents receive appropriate support
• This is an office based role and will involve telephoning customers who are accommodated in temporary accommodation to check on their welfare, and ensure that local services are accessed
• Advise on benefits, including housing benefit, and  issues rated to accommodation
• Needs an awareness and understanding of Safeguarding issues. The applicant will be IT literate and be able to maintain accurate records will need to be maintained
• Act as point of contact for customers of the Homelessness Service, assess the needs of the customer and provide effective and accurate information and advice
• Will be conversant and knowledgeable in specific subjects providing a detailed and comprehensive level of service advice
• Work as part of a team and contribute to the provision of a high quality service directly supporting service and organisational objectives
• Liaise appropriately with colleagues and other professionals
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• Immediate start
• 3 Month Temporary Contract

The successful candidate will need to hold an NVQ3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent, have a current CRB and be a car driver.
