Job Description

Qualified Social Worker, Probation Officer, Thurrock Council, Youth Offending Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a YOT Social Work team

Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a YOT Social Work team

The team work extremely well together to ensure the best outcomes for youth offenders under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager

The responsibilities will include:

• To supervise a case load of court sentenced young offenders as allocated by Operations Managers
• To assess the risk, safety and wellbeing and offence related needs of young people using ASSET Plus
• To write Pre-Sentence reports and Referral Order Panel reports
• To ensure accurate case recording on Child View
• To deliver effective programmes to young offenders designed to reduce offending
• To act as a single point of contact for the National Probation Service in respect of case transitions from youth to adult services
• To manage and enforce non-compliance with court orders
• To participate in the duty rota, including office duty, court duty, referral order panels
• To ensure all practice adheres to the YJB National Standards
• Undertake comprehensive Risk Assessments
• Prepare Anti-Social Behaviour Order applications and cases
• Sessions with service users 10-18 years
• Prison visits & Reviews
• Deliver and case manage Acceptable Behaviour Contracts
• Court Work/PSR Reports & Reviews
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 Month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
