Job Description

Qualified Social Worker, Assistant Team Manager ,Waltham Forest Council, Children in Care Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team

Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children’s Social Work team

The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager

The responsibilities will include:

• Lead 2 small Practice Support Groups operating as a social work unit of multi-disciplinary staff
• Social workers within the PSG manage a range of children in care and leaving care cases which range in complexity
• The ATM supervises cases as part of fortnightly group supervision, provides individual supervision to a small number of social worker staff, support colleagues in the PSG reporting to the Team Manager and is  accountable for ensuring the safety of the children and young people allocated to the PSG
• Liaise with other professionals
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
