Job Description

Qualified Social Worker, Service Manager, Torbay Council, Children In Need Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team

Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children’s Social Work team

The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager

The responsibilities will include:

• Provide high quality and regular supervision and management oversight to up to four team managers
• Ensure children are seen regularly and that plans are progressed within the child’s timescales
• Take a lead in the quality performance review monitoring cycle by ensuring daily briefings and weekly performance meetings take place
• Work with the IRO manager and other Service Managers to ensure that causes for concern are resolved at the earliest stage to ensure good outcomes for children
• Provide a mentoring and support to a newly appointed Service Manager
• Provide leadership through Ofsted monitoring visit and work to progress the improvement work currently being carried out
• Assessments
• Child Protection work
• Care Management
• Manage a case load
• Home Visits
• Court Work
• Liaise with other professionals
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
