Job Description

Qualified Social Worker, Camden Council, Family And Friends Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team

Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children’s Social Work team

The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager

The responsibilities will include:

• The Family and Friends Team offers an assessment and support service to family and friends carers, who provide alternative accommodation for children who are not able to remain within the care of their birth parents
• You will be completing viability assessments, SGO assessments, Regulation 24 fostering assessments and may be required to complete other assessments required by the Team
• You will be also offering a liaison role when Independent Social Workers may be completing assessments on Camden Kinship Carers as well as providing support to kinship carers in a variety of situations/circumstances
• In this role you will have the opportunity to work with professionals of every discipline
• With a remit spanning the assessment and support of connected persons, you’re guaranteed different challenges every day
• The role demands close collaboration and good working relationships across the integrated service and LAC team, FIT and BIT teams and 16+ service to deliver an integrated approach to child care planning
• Assessments
• Child Protection work
• Care Management
• Manage a case load
• Home Visits
• Court Work
• Liaise with other professionals
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
