Job Description

Qualified Social Worker, Blackpool Council, Childrens Support Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team

Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children’s Social Work team

The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager

The responsibilities will include:

• Experienced in court proceedings and working with families subject to care proceedings
• Hold a small caseload of proceedings whilst also supporting, mentoring and coaching less experienced staff through this area of work
• Have an understanding of the lived experience of children in our care and legislation around this to ensure you are fulfilling your corporate parenting responsibilities
• In addition to the court work senior social workers within this service will look at the longer term plans for our children considering whether it is appropriate to seek discharge, sgo or maintain a longer term placement
• As a senior social worker in Blackpool we will expect you to be committed, passionate and to strive for the very best for our Children and young people
• Ability to write concise,fit for purpose reports/court statements and ability to maintain up todate and accurate records
• Experience of inputting into children’s services data systems (Mosaic;ICS)
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
