Job Description

Qualified Social Worker, Service Manager, Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, Childrens Care Management Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team

Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children’s Social Work team

The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Manager

The responsibilities will include:

• Committed to delivering positive changes to the children and families of Sandwell
• Looking for an experienced and dedicated Children’s Service Manager to join our Organisation and to be committed to delivering positive changes to the children and families of Sandwell

• An inspirational leader with excellent management skills and the ability to encourage team working
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to engage with children, their families and relevant stakeholders
• Ability to write reports for a range of audiences and be able to verbally present these with confidence
• Good understanding of performance management and a commitment to providing a high quality service to children, their families and carer
• Provide supervision to Team Managers in the service
• Monitor performance and implementation of the practice framework to promote the highest levels of practice in the service
• Be part of the management structure for the Care Management Service
• Be responsible for facilitating multi-agency worker to ensure that children and young people are supported and safeguarded
• Provide supervision to Team Managers in the service
• Monitor performance and implementation of the practice framework to promote the highest levels of practice in the service
• Ensure that assessments, statements and the formulation of plans placed before the court are robust, holistic and child centred
• Be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, a head for complexity, and know how to improve service
• Liaise with other professionals
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
