Job Description

Support Worker, Wrexham Council, Children Prevention and Support Service (PASS) Team - Must be a Support Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Support Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team

Our client is looking for a support Worker with 2 years+ UK experience within a Children’s team

The responsibilities will include:

• Provide a structured quality service to support case holding social workers working with children, young people and parents, by developing good working partnerships with them, their families, foster carers and other stake-holders
• Work undertaken can be varied examples being court ordered supervised contacts between child/ren and parents and one to one work in regards to meeting identified needs with Care and Support Plan and Child Protection Plan. PASS also undertake structured Family Group Meetings with families that are within PLO processes
• Referrals from Local Authority child case holding Social Workers
• 6 to 8 week planned provision undertaken with guidance from the social worker
• Work will commence when an initial visit with case holding social worker, PASS worker and family has taken place
• Planned weekend work when appropriate to service user need
• Prevention and Support Service (PASS) role is to support all Children’s Social Care teams however this needs to be undertaken in a timely and structured way through a referral process. By case holding social workers recognising the importance of early referrals it is hoped that serious family crises can be averted preventing family or placement breakdown
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
