Job Description

Qualified Social Worker, St Helens Council, Children With Disabilities Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team

Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children’s Social Work team

The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager

The responsibilities will include:

• Expected to manage a case load of Child in Need, and potentially Children we Look After, and Child Protection cases. CWD accepts referrals for children with severe and profound disabilities and/or complex medical needs who require assessments of need and who may need social care packages of support
• Responsible for establishing social care packages of support, for example direct payments or via commissioned services
• Safeguard the children supported by the team which can result in the initiation of safeguarding procedures, through to court proceedings and long term looked after children's work
• Work closely with the SEND team and health professionals, for example the complex needs nursing team
• Ideally the candidate will have worked with children with severe or profound disabilities but this is not an essential criteria
• Require staff who have a working knowledge of Liquid Logic and who can demomstrate compliance with statutory responsibilities
• Liaise with other professionals
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
