Job Description

Qualified Social Worker, Knowsley Council, Child Protection Shield Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team

Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children’s Social Work team

The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager

The responsibilities will include:

• The Shield Team is a multi-agency team for children at risk of sexual and criminal exploitation, trafficking, and missing from home or care placed in and out of the borough
• Seeking to recruit a qualified social worker to undertake good quality front door screenings and assessments, child exploitation and missing assessments, develop clear and focused plans, and ensure timely delivery of effective services to young people at risk of exploitation and missing and their parents
• An expectation to complete some short interventions with children that are being exploited or are at risk of exploitation
• Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form
• Experienced and have abilities in respect of working in partnership with children, adolescents and their families and partner agencies
• Experienced in working with complex and sensitive issues and sexual and criminal exploitation
• Knowledgeable about adolescent development and contextual safeguarding
• Able to work individually and as part of a multi-agency team
• Demonstrate comprehensive and up to date knowledge and understanding of statutory frameworks and local and national policy and guidance relating to safeguarding, missing and exploitation
• Liaise with other professionals
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
