Training
At Entrust, we believe strongly in the professional development of our candidates and offer the same training opportunities as those enjoyed by social workers in permanent employment.
Working as a locum with Entrust will not limit your professional development.
You will be eligible for 5 days free training per year which will ensure that you not only continue to develop your skills and career but also that you meet the GSCC requirements to undertake 15 days training over a three year period.
All our training courses are run by Staffordshire Social Services and therefore fully certificated and quality assured.

PQ Training
Social workers must maintain and extend their knowledge and skills in order to remain on the social care register. One way of doing this is by working towards GSCC-approved post-qualifying (PQ) awards under the PQ framework. There are three academic levels for you to progress through:
- the Post-Qualifying Award in Specialist Social Work;
- the Post-Qualifying Award in Higher Specialist Social Work; and
- the Post-Qualifying Award in Advanced Social Work
There are five specialisms focusing on: mental health; adult social care; practice education; leadership and management; and children and young people, their families and carers.
At Entrust, our in-house training department will provide advice and guidance on the registration process and how to access the limited bursary funds that are available from the Learning Skills Council for independent and agency social workers.
Additional funding may be available from Entrust dependent upon individual circumstances.
Our training department will ensure that you are provided with the necessary support and guidance to ensure that your route to PQ status is supervised by highly experienced trainers in the social care sector.
If you would like to know more about how PQ training can advance your career and increase the opportunities available to you, particularly those senior posts commanding high salaries, then please call a member of the Entrust Social Care Team on 0333 12345 30
