Job Description

Qualified Social Worker, Sandwell Council, Children's Brief Intervention Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team

Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children’s Social Work team

The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager

The responsibilities will include:


• Working with children and families currently subject to CIN plans, with the aim of stepping the cases down or closing them down completely
• Working as part of the Brief Intervention Team, you will be assigned six families for whom a six week period of intervention is likely to result in safe closure or step-down for the children
• You will visit them, complete any intervention required to progress to safe closure or step down, undertake CIN reviews and record your work
• Visits will be face to face where possible but we’ll also provide you with the latest technology to make virtual visiting meaningful
• There will be no statutory assessments or court work
• The initial contract will be for twelve weeks with a view to rolling this over for an additional twelve weeks
• Liaise with other professionals
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
